Saina Nehwal creates History, becomes World No. 1 in Badminton

New Delhi, March 28: In a proud moment for India, ace shuttler Saina Nehwal created history by becoming the first Indian woman player to be ranked No. 1 in the world. She is the second player from the country to achieve this success after legendary Prakash Padukone in badminton.

President Pranab Mukherjee congratulated Saina on this achievement. Taking to Twitter, he said, "Congrats Saina Nehwal on becoming World no 1 in Badminton; well deserved honour; best wishes for Indian Open Semi Final".
