BJP embarrasses Congress, Centre to build Memorial for PV Narasimha Rao

New Delhi, March 31: The BJP is playing politics honouring the late Congress leaders who were neglected by the party. Late Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao is the next target of the NDA government to remember his contribution to the country after Mahatma Gandhi.

Rao, the architect of the country's economic reforms, was disowned by the Congress even after his demise, but the BJP is planning to build a memorial for him.

The memorial will be built at Ekta Sthal Samadhi Complex where his body was entitled to have state honours as the former PM.

This move could be seen as an attempt to embarrass the Congress leadership that disowned the talented former PM by not allowing his body to enter AICC building after his death. His body was cremated with full state honours on Dec 25, 2004, in Hyderabad.

Last year, the TDP had moved a resolution demanding the Centre to build a memorial for the leader, who had brought reforms in economy in a big way.
