Neemuch, April 02: While Congress workers protested against the racist remarks made by Union Minister Giriraj Singh, party president Sonia Gandhi refused to comment anything on the people with narrow mindset.

Mrs Gandhi, who visited Neemuch district in Madhya Pradesh to assess the crop loss, refused to respond to persons having narrow mentality.

However, Congress workers took to streets demanding resignation of Singh for his controversial comments against Sonia Gandhi.

Singh while interacting with media people at Hajipur on Tuesday had sparked controversy. He talked against Sonia Gandhi about her skin colour and his son Rahul Gandhi. Even he had to clarify it to the party chief Amit Shah after criticism.

He expressed his regrets later. However, this was not enough for the Congress workers.

In a statement, Singh had said, ""If Rajiv Gandhi had married a Nigerian lady and she was not white, would the Congress have accepted her as its chief"?
