President gives Nod to Fresh Land Ordinance

New Delhi, April 03: President Pranab Mukherjee on Friday signed a fresh land ordinance bill. The new land ordinance was necessary for the government as the previous one will lapse on April 5.

The controversial land bill was passed in Lok Sabha, but could not be tabled in Rajya Sabha where the BJP is a minority.

The government is planning to bring a fresh ordinance on the amended Land Bill before the second half of the budget session of parliamnet starts on April 20.

Meanwhile, Congress is uniting the farmers across the country against the land bill. Even, veteran social actiovist and anti-graft crusader Anna Hazare is against the bill. The future of the bill is uncertain. But the NDA government has still hope to get the bill passed in the Upper House.
