Missing Indian Mountaineer Mastan Babu found Dead in Andes

Hyderabad, April 04: Malli Mastan Babu, one of Indiaís top mountaineers, who had gone missing since March 24, was found dead in Andes. He was regarded as the fastest 7 summiteer in the world.

Babu, who went on a climb up the high mountains between Argentina and Chile went with his friends to climb the Ceros Mountains, was dropped off at the base camp on 24th March. According to family members, Babu was supposed to return on 24th, but did not.

According to family members, Babuís friends formed a quick search party to look around the Argentinean side of the mountains. While they found some members, they failed to locate Malli.

The Indian ambassador to Chile was in touch with the climberís family.

The Ministry of External Affairs had earlier said it was coordinating with authorities in South America over the search for the climber.

Malliís mother in Hyderabad had urged Indian government to help her trace her missing son.

"I am worried that my son is missing. I want information about my son. I request the government to trace my son", said Malli Mastan's mother.
