SC Judge Kurian Joseph declines to attend PM's Dinner

New Delhi, April 04: Supreme Court Judge Kurian Joseph dares raising question to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on holding meetings on holy days and declined to attend the PM's dinner for judges today.

In a letter to PM Modi, Justice Joseph cleared his stand on holding the judges conference on Good Friday and Easter weekend and declined to attend the PM's dinner on Saturday.

He said that important meetings and programmes should not be held on holy days.

Earlier, he had raised objections with Chief Justice of India HL Dattu over holding of a three-day judges’ conference during holy weekend that has religious significance for Christians.

Justice Joseph said that holding the conference on April 2-5 will give a wrong message to other constitutional bodies.
