Secret Deal between BJP-BJD on Land Acquisition Bill?

Bhubaneswar, April 06: There is a secret deal between the BJP and BJD on the controversial land acquisition bill, alleged former union minister Jairam Ramesh. While Congress is busy in uniting the farmers and other political parties for a big revolution against the land bill, it wants the ruling party of Odisha to oppose the proposed law in Rajya Sabha.

The Congress leader appealed to the BJD to stand by the farmers and not to support the land bill.

While hitting out at the BJD, Ramesh made it clear that Congress did not depend on the regional party to defeat the amendments brought by the BJP government in the Upper House, but the party should stand for the interest of the farmers.

Addressing a press conference here at Congress Bhawan on Monday, Ramesh said that Congress stands by the farmers and tribals. This will continue its fight against the bill inside and outside the Parliament.

A rally will be staged in the national capital on April 19 against the amendments of the Land Acquisition bill and the fresh land ordinance that was recently given a nod by the President of India.

Congress wants the land bill back that was passed by the UPA government. The party seeks the support of BJD to put a big impact on the war against BJP. It can be noted that the political parties including SP, BSP, JD(U), CPI(M), CPI, DMK, NCP and TMC support the Congress on the issue.
