Five Terrorists Gunned Down in Nalgonda

Hyderabad, April 07: Five suspected terrorists were gunned down by Telangana police in an encounter on Tuesday near Alair in Nalgonda district. They were killed while trying to escape from the custody.

The encounter took place after the terrorists were being taken to a court in Hyderabad from a jail in Warangal. Near Alair on the Warangal-Hyderabad highway, the accused tried to escape snatching the guns from police in the vehicle.

However, the police fought back and shot dead five accused. They were identified as Vikaruddin Ahmed, Suleiman, Mohd Haneef, Mohd Zakir and Izhar Khan. They were involved in killing of two cops.

Vikaruddin had alleged links with terror outfit Darsgah Jihad-o-Shahadath.

The incident was reported just three days after two terrorists belonging to SIMI and a police personnel were killed in a gunfight in Nalgonda district on Saturday.
