1993 Mumbai Blast: Review Plea of Yakub Memon rejected

New Delhi, April 09: The Supreme Court on Thursday rejected the review petition of Yakub Menon, the convict in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case, and upheld his death sentence.

Menon is the lone death row convict in the case, His brother Tiger Menon is still absconding in the blasts that had left over 250 people dead and more than 700 injured. 

Yakub Menon is currently lodged in Nagpur jail. He was found guilty in 2006 of criminal conspiracy and financing air tickets for the co-conspirators to move to Pakistan for arms and RDX training.

The convict had moved the apex court filing review petition against the death penalty after the President upheld his sentence.
