Raja Acharya gets Parole to attend Last Rites of Mother

Bhubaneswar, April 15: The Orissa High Court has granted a conditional parole to Raja Acharya, the convict in Biranchi Das murder case, to attend his mother's last rites at home.

He was granted parole on the condition of furnishing the bond of Rs 5 lakh and two sureties.

Raja has been sentenced to death in the sensation murder case of judo karate coach Biranchi Das.

His mother died on April 12. He had approached the high court seeking parole to perform his mother's last rites. However, he will not be left alone during his parole as per the court's order. He will be accompanied by an Inspector.
