Nabakalebara 2015: Yajna begins for Cutting of Lord Sudarshan Daru

Bhubaneswar, April 16: The yagna began for the cutting of Lord Sudarshan Dau located at Gadakhuntunia in Balakati area on the outskirt of Bhubaneswar. The two-half-day yagna is being performed by the priests and Banajaga team as part of the rituals for the "Daru Chhedan".

The rituals for the Daru Chhedan began yesterday with Surya Pujan, Bhumi pujan, neem tree plantation, Bhumi suddhi and so on. Today, the yagna started and will continue till tomorrow evening. After purna ahuti, the Daru will be cut down by the Banajaga members using the weapons of gold, silver and iron.

The Banajaga team, the priests and other servitors will remain fast during the yagna. They will take food after the completion of the yagna.
