International Paralympic Committee debars Indian Body


New Delhi, April 17: In a blow to the Paralympic Committee of India (PCI), the International Paralympic Committee has decided to derecognise the Indian body due to infighting.

According to sources, the PCI has been suspended over the sloppy treatment given to the athletes in Ghaziabad last month.

The recent state of affair in PCI has seen the suspension of its President Rajesh Tomar.

In a letter written by the World Body on 15th April and sent by email to PCI, the suspension is for an indefinite period of time. This is the third time India has been suspended.

The letter by the World Body and it’s CEO said,

"The situation in PCI has been chaotic for several years now, which is mostly due to individual conflicts at the national level between different groups and persons… and the situation does not bring any positive outcome for the athletes", said the letter.
