Kashmir Tension: Yasin Malik, Agnivesh arrested

Srinagar, April 18: The J&K police arrested separatist leader Yasin Malik and social activist Swami Agnivesh while they were moving towards joining the protest against the arrest of traitor Masarat Alam.

Malik, who is on 30-hour fast opposing the government's decision for a separate colony or township for the Kashmiri pundits, was arrested along with Agnivesh. The Arya Samaj leader joined Malik in his hunger strike against rehabilitation programme for the Hindu pundits. The duo along with their supporters were marching towards the protest site Narbal where a youth was killed in a clash between security forces and the protesters.

The youth died this morning after the police opened fire at the protesters who were pelting stones at the police opposing the arrest of Masarat Alam.

On the other hand, the complete bandh was observed in the valley following the call of Geelani, who is also placed under house arrest for waving Pakistan flag in Kashmir and shouting anti-India slogans during a rally.
