26 Mines to Execute Supplementary Lease Deeds in 3 Months

Bhubaneswar, April 18: Giving a relief to the miners, Odisha government on Saturday directed the lease holders of 26 mines to start execution of supplementary lease deeds within 3 months.

The decision came a day after chief minister Naveen Patnaik approved the recommendation of the inter-departmental committee on mining for extension of the lease period of the 26 closed mines.

With this decision, the captive mines will get the renewal for 15 years and the non-captive mines will get for five years under the provisions of the new Mines and Minerals (Development & Regulation) Amendment Act, 2015.

The lease holders can operate the mines after the registration with required documents.
