Mortal of JB Patnaik reaches Biju Patnaik Airport, gets Guard of Honour

Bhubaneswar, April 21: Thousands of his supporters, political leaders of all the parties and public were waiting at the Biju Patnaik airport in Bhubaneswar to see the great leader Janaki Ballav Patnaik, who left this world in the wee hours on Tuesday following chest pain in Tirupati.

The entire atmosphere was sorrowful and echoed with "Janaki Babu Amar Rahe" slogan; fans with tearful eyes were standing silent, no words to speak, just waiting to have last darshan of the body.

Patnaik was brought to Bhubaneswar by a special flight on which he had boarded to Tirupati to attend the convocation ceremony of the Tirupati Rashtriya Sanskruta University. He reached here at around 2.50 pm.

The three-time Chief Minister of Odisha was given the guard of honour after his mortal body reached the airport. His body will be taken to Congress Bhawan, state Assembly, his village Rameswar in Khordha district.

Tomorrow, the body will be cremated at Swarga Dwar in Puri.
