Chittoor Firing: NHRC Hearing Today

Hyderabad, April 23: The National Human Rights Commission would take up hearing today of the Chittoor killing where 20 people were killed in alleged encounter. It would also take up hearing of the Telangana encounter in which 5 under trials were killed

The commission had on April 7, issued a notice to Andhra Pradesh government seeking a report on the Chittoor killing, observing that the incident involved a serious violation of human rights of individuals.

The NHRC issued a notice on April 9 to Telangana government seeking a report on the killing of five under trials, who were allegedly associated with radical groups in Nalgonda district, while being taken in a police van to a Hyderabad court.
