New Delhi, April 23: The IMD forecast deficit monsoon for this year. The overall rainfall will be 93 percent, which is below normal, due to El Nino effect that has been created on the Pacific Ocean off Peru Coast.

The El Nino will affect monsoon in a big way minimising rain across India. The El Nino conditions may persist during the south-west monsoon.
