WB Civic Polls: TMC Leader Shot Dead

Kolkata, April 25: The gundaraj and violence returned to West Bengal during municipal polls today with the shootout of the TMC leader Indrajit Singh. He was shot dead at a polling booth near Katwa bus stand in Burdwan district this morning.

TMC alleged that the victim was attacked for preventing the booth from violence by a gangster.

The incident occurred when the polling started this morning for the 91 civic bodies. Around 763 candidates are contesting civic polls this year.

According to some media reports, in another incident, police recovered 16 crude bombs from Sonamukhi.
