Death Toll rises to 3600 in Nepal, 72 in India


New Delhi, April 27: The number of casualty in the devastating earthquake and aftershocks further rose to above 3600 in Nepal with the dead bodies trapped under the debris recovered by the rescue teams. The series of quakes also jolted the parts of India where the death toll climbed to 72,

Union Home Minister on Monday confirmed that 72 people died so far in India due to the tremors after the massive quakes in Nepal on Saturday and Sunday. Over 280 people have been injured in the disaster, he said.

Out of 72, 56 are from Bihar, 12 in UP, 3 in West Bengal and 1 in Rajasthan. Singh thanked the state governments of Bihar, and UP for the relief operations in the quake affected areas.
