New Delhi, April 28: Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh hit out the BJP government for cancelling the licences of nearly 9000 foreign-funded NGOs in India.
Taking to Twitter, Digvijaya questioned the decision.
"More than 8900 FCRA clearances cancelled. Has this been arbitrarily done or after due process of Law", he posted.
"Would Home Ministry put the names of NGOs along with names of the Directors whose FCRA clearances have been cancelled in Public Domain?", he tweeted.
The home ministry cancelled the registration of around 9000 NGOs after failing to reply to the government over their non filling of annual returns for the year 2009-10, 2010-11, 2011-12.
