Chandigarh, April 29: Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi took on Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the farmers issue and suggested him to visit Punjab to see the situation of farmers.
Speaking in Lok Sabha today, Rahul lauded the farmers and said they are real persons who are making India, establishing the country while referring to the project "Make in India".
Hitting at Modi, Rahul said that the PM speaks about Make in India, but invites foreign investors to make products in India ignoring the farmers of the country.
He slammed the government saying only the compensation and financial assistance to farmers will never end their problems in this country.
Rahul surprised all by visiting Punjab by train in general compartment yesterday. He met the farmers whose crops were damaged by the unseasonal rains and hailstorm. He assured the farmers to raise their issue in the parliament.
