Jaundice Menace: Death toll rises to three in Bolangir

Bolangir, May 09: The death toll rises to three with one more person died of jaundice in Bolangir. The district administration is taking initiative measures to tackle the spread of water borne disease. However, people are becoming the victims after consuming contaminated water.

Due to negligence of administration and municipal authorities, the residents are drinking contaminated water. Neither the pipelines were not repaired nor were any public awareness programmes launched to keep the periphery clean.

On the other hand, the spread of jaundice was reported from the neighbouring district Boudh where around 25 children were affected by the disease in Butumunda village.
