BJD urges Centre to rethink over Nalco Disinvestment

Bhubaneswar, May 09: Opposing the Central government decision to disinvest in the Nalco, the ruling BJD urged the Centre to rethink the decision. Meeting the union steel and mines minister Narendra Singh Tomar, the BJD MPs demanded to withdraw the disinvestment.

Talking to media, Bhartuhari Mahtab said that the Nalco is a profit making public sector undertaking firm. The Centre's disinvestment from the Navaratna PSU should be withdrawn.

The demand came after the Modi government decided to divest 10% of its stake in Nalco last month.
