Itishree Murder case: Action to be taken against Two OAS Officers

Bhubaneswar, May 09: Stern action to be taken against two OAS officers - former District Project Coordinator (DPC) Laxmikanta Behera and former BDO of Kashipur Alok Pradhan in the sensational murder of Itishree Pradhan, a lady teacher of Tikiri UP school in Rayagada, as per the recommendation by the school and mass education department.

The recommendation was on the basis of the administrative report that stated that the incident took place during the tenure of Laxmikant Behera, who was working as the DPC under the Sarva Siksha Abhiyan in Rayagada, and Alok Pradhan, who was the BDO of Kashipir.

The two officers ignored the appeal of the victim Itishree, who was seeking justice from her authorities against sexual harassment by her colleagues. All her approach went in vein. Both the officers did not take up the matter, the report said.

Earlier, home department had recommended action against Behera and Pradhan on basis of Verma report to the GA department last year. The school and mass education department has asked the GA department to take strong action against the two officers.
