No Photos of Politicians to be allowed on Govt Ads

New Delhi, May 13: In a landmark judgment today, the Supreme Court restrained the ruling parties from publishing photos of the political leaders on the government ads.

Giving a strict ruling, the apex court said that the money of the taxpayers cannot be spent for the promotional activities of the political leaders.

However, the photos of President, Prime Minister and CJI in this regard will be exempted. The rule will not be applicable in case of three constitutional authorities such as President, PM and CJI.

The rest of the politicians in the ruling party will not be allowed to put their photos in the government ads.
