Another Minor Girl victim of Motherhood in Nabarangpur

Nabarangpur, May 15: Another case of minor motherhood was reported from the tribal district Nabarangpur forcing the district administration to order a probe into the matter.

Nabarangpur collector Rashmita Panda ordered the District Child Welfare Committee (DCWC) to probe the case after a minor student was allegedly raped for weeks and later became pregnant.

According to reports, the victim was studying in class VI. She was raped by Govind Bindhani on Ganesh Puja last year at a village when she was going to attend tuition. The accused threatened her to kill if she speaks to her parents. Later, he forced her to have physical relationship with him for three weeks. Ultimately, the girl became pregnant of seven months.

The parents of the girl are daily labourers. After they found bodily changes in her, they asked her the reason and out of fear the victim disclosed everything.

A voluntary organisation helped them to file a complaint with the collector, who assured that justice will be done with the victim and they will be given security.
