Beer Firms to supply Beverages at previous year price

Cuttack, May 15: In a big relief for the beer manufacturers as the Orissa High Court has given a ruling in their favour allowing them to supply the beverages to the Odisha State Beverages Corporation (OSBC), owned by the state government at last year's price.

The standoff between beer manufacturers and the government began after the later made a new law that forces the manufacturers to supply beer to the OSBC at 20% less than its normal rate.

Opposing the decision, the beer companies approached the high court.

The matter was posted for July 16. The court asked government for a meeting with the firms for the solution.
