Odisha to introduce e-tender for Mineral Transport

Bhubaneswar, May 16: In a bid to bring transparency in the transport of minerals and mines in Odisha, the state government will introduce e-tender for the truckers engaged in the mineral transportation.

The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by state chief secretary GC Pati at secretariat here on Friday. The miners and members of truck unions were also present at the meeting.

As per the decision, the e-tender system will check the arbitrary rates and regulate the pricing for transport of minerals. The system will be developed through Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) within two months. The district level technical committee under the chairmanship of the district collector will fix the prices for the transport till the system comes into force. The collector of the districts will recommend the pricing; notify it to the government within 15 days.
