Digvijaya attacks Modi Govt over Fuel Price Hike

New Delhi, May 16: Following the fuel price hike, Congress general secretary Digvijaya Singh was quick to react and slam the Modi government, which completed one year after winning Lok Sabha elections last year.

Singh accused Modi and his government of not fulfilling the promises to control the inflation and cutting the prices of petroleum products.

On a day when PM Modi tweeted that people's faith in government has increased and the world's optimism about India is at an all-time high, Digvijaya lashed out at BJP-led Centre on Twitter.

He tweeted- "One Year of Modi becoming PM. Price hike of Petrol Diesel. Modi's gift to us. Thank you Modiji. 8th hike of Petroleum Products in one year".

After some earlier cuts, the prices of petrol and diesel have been increased including state levies in Delhi, on the back of rising international crude rates and falling value of the rupee against dollar. The petrol prices rose by Rs 3.13 a litre and diesel by Rs 2.71.
