Para-athletes allowed to compete under IPC Flag

New Delhi, May 20: With a ban being slapped on the national body, it was a question whether Indian para-athletes would compete in international events or not.

However, the clouds over it have been cleared as the International Paralympic Committee has given permission to compete at the international competitions under the IPC flag.

In a letter to the Sports Minister, the IPC appreciated the government’s suggestions to set up an ad-hoc committee to run the Paralympic matters in the country and sought the details of persons who can be a part of such a panel.

Soon after the world body suspended Paralympic Committee of India, Sarbananda Sonowal led Sports Ministry had followed suit to de-recognise the PCI.
