Yuki Bhambri wins French Open Qualifier Opener

New Delhi, May 21: India's number one singles player Yuki Bhambri battled hard to progress to the second round of the French Open qualifiers.

Along with Bhambri, Ramkumar Ramanathan also fought past his opponent in straight sets.

The opening round of the Clay Court Grand Slam event saw Bhambri overcoming the challenge from World No.116, 6-3, 3-6, 9-7.

It was a tough fight, which saw Yuki edging out his opponent only by three points.

Yuki saved nine break chances and broke his opponent four times. He was up 40-0 in the 16th game of the third set and converted his third Match point to close the contest.
