Top Naxal Commander Arrested in MP


Balaghat (MP), May 23: A suspected top Maoist active in Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh for nearly two decades and named in more than 200 cases, has been arrested from Balaghat, Madhya Pradesh.

"He is a dangerous naxalite called Dilip aka Guha. He is one of the most wanted of all the naxalites. He is a division committee member of Gadchiroli.  His story starts from 1995 and till 2015 he has committed lot of crimes like bomb blasts, murder etc", said Balaghat IG DC Saagar.

The Maoist has been taken into custody after an exchange of fire in the forests near Songudda. Five other Maoists who were with Dilip, managed to escape. The Maoist leader has been remanded in 12-day police custody.

"130 cases are registered against him in Balaghat only. We are doing the investigation and we hope that he will tell us about other crimes done by him in Chhattisgarh. He is also wanted by judiciary in 80 cases. In MP there is a reward of Rs. 3.5 lakhs on him because of his senior top rank", he said.
