New Delhi, May 25: The issue of passport for hardliner Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar's recent remarks about neutralising terrorists through terrorists, have initiated controversies for the Bharatiya Janata Party.
AICC Spokesperson Shobha Oza also slammed BJP saying that they can stoop down to any level to be in power.
"Janata Party which used to talk a lot about ideology and pseudo-nationalism can stoop to any level to be in power. Their ideologies are fake. The real face of BJP can be seen with the way BJP-PDP are supporting the separatists", said Shobha Oza, Congress spokesperson.
But on the other hand, BJP spokesperson, when asked about this, said that BJP will never be soft on terror or separatism.
"The BJP can never be soft on terror or separatism. BJP is a nationalist party and nationalism runs in the blood of BJP. There was no confusion as far the party passport issue of Mr Geelani is concerned. The centre was absolutely clear that the passport has not been given as yet. So what is their problem, the passport has not been given and if you asked me, I would say in a different note then all those who call themselves separatists should be made to fill the form for Passport at least there they have to declared that they belong to this country. So if you declare your nationality, only then can you be given a passport; how else can you be given a passport! The centre has been absolutely cleared on it no ham handed approach it. Very correct and technical approach to this whole issue, said Sambit Patra, BJP spokersperson.
