Odisha Govt to give Rs 5 lakh for Shrines at 3 Daru locations

Bhubaneswar, May 26: The Odisha government will provide Rs 5 lakh each for constructing temples at three locations where the daru of Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra were found for the Nabakalebar.

The darus were located at Kharipadia, Kanakpur and Adhangagada in Jagatsinghpur district.

Apart from this, a chariot wheel will be provided to all the four sites including Gadakuntunia, on outskirts of Bhubaneswar, where the daru of Lord Sudarshan was located, as a memento, said Suresh Chandra Mohapatra, the chief administrator of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA).

The owner of the plot where the daru of Lord Jagannath was found will be given the compensation amount of Rs 3 lakh for the loss due to digging and cutting down of the daru for Nabakalebar.
