Centre wants Report from Odisha Govt to set up IIM in Sambalpur

Bhubaneswar, May 30: Since the Odisha government wants Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Sambalpur, the Union HRD ministry has written a letter to state seeking to know whether the western Odisha city meets the criteria set by the ministry.

The HRD ministry asked to submit a detailed report by June 5. The Centre wants to know whether the city has necessary infrastructure facilities, reputed companies, or any major industries, economic condition, hob opportunities for the family members of the IIM employees.

Meanwhile, the demand is increasing to set up the premier institute in Berhampur, Rourkela and Balasore. Amidst the row, it will be tough job for the government to silence the voice of the rest to set up IIM in Sambalpur.
