ARSS Chairman arrested for firing at Railway Official

Bhubaneswar, June 1: Police arrested the ARSS infrastructure project chairman Subhas Agarwal in connection with firing at a railway official in the state capital on Saturday.

Agarwal was arrested from Bhubaneswar on Sunday by the Chandrasekharpur police. He was forwarded to court.

The incident took place on Saturday afternoon when ECoR assistant general manager Ajay Kumar was returning home on his SUV near Patia and some miscreants opened fire at his vehicle.

However, Kumar managed to escape unhurt.

According to reports, Kumar and Agarwal had a fight over a railway project few days ago. The ARSS was given a tender to construct a part of the Angul-Sukinda project. Since the company could not complete the project by the deadline, the Railway slapped the company with a fine of Rs 31 lakh. Opposing the fine, Agarwal had talked to KUmar and they had a fight over the matter.
