US Defence Secretary lays Wreath at Amar Jawan Jyoti

New Delhi, June 3: US Defence Secretary Ashton Carter, who is on a three-day visit to the country, was presented the Guard of honour by tri-services this morning. Carter laid wreath at the Amar Jawan Jyoti at India Gate today.

India and The United States will sign a fresh 10-year defence framework agreement today.The agreement, decided during the visit of US President Barack Obama to India in January, will focus on issues ranging from maritime security, aircraft carrier to jet engine technology cooperation and joint training.

During his visit, the US Defence Secretary will also call on Prime Minister Narendra Modi besides meeting External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.
