Bus Fare hiked in Odisha, Automatic Mechanism to be implemented soon

Bhubaneswar, June 4: The Odisha government hiked the bus fare by 4 to 8 paisa per km with effect from today.

With the increased fare, the bus fare for ordinary bus was increased from 57 paisa to 61 paisa per km, express buses from 60 paisa to 64 paisa, delux buses from 80 paisa to 86 paisa and AC deluxe buses from 99 paisa to Rs 1.07 per km.

On the other hand, the government announced the implementation of automatic mechanism for revision of fares. This was demanded by the bus owners to increase and slash fares as per the rise and fall of fuel prices in India.
