Teachers held for taking bribe

Cops of Odisha vigilance department arrested two teachers, including the headmaster, of Ballavnayak High School at P. Nuagaon under Kodala police station in Ganjam district Saturday, June 20, in afternoon while the teachers were accepting Rs.500 as bribe against issuing School Leaving Certificate and mark sheet to a student.

As the student, who had passed secondary school board examination this year from this school, was asked for money by both teachers, his mother complained about it to the Berhampur vigilance division. Basing on information, a trap was set by vigilance sleuths.

The vigilance officials arrested the headmaster Trinath Nayak and Hindi teacher Bhagabat Mohanty in the formerís chamber and the cash, paid as bribe money was seized from the two accused.
