Depression weakens, but downpour continues over interior Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Heavy downpour in interior Odisha in next 24 hours has been predicted by the Meteorological department today.

The Regional Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, said  yesterday’s depression, which lays about 110 km from Sambalpur, weakened into a well-marked low pressure today and now lies over interior Odisha and adjoining Chattisgarh and Jharkhand.

According to the department, rain or thunderstorm would occur at most places over North Odisha and many places over South Odisha during next 24 hours.

The fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea as strong windy surface with speed between 45 and 50 kmph gusting up to 60 kmph would prevail along and off the Odisha coast, according to sources.
