Three persons in Odisha’s Sundargarh district have been arrested by police Monday, June 22, 2015, for raping a married woman in presence of her husband on June 14.
Identified as Ajit Banchua (22), Jagabandhu Behera (28) and Dibya Lochan Apat (23), all three persons arrested are from Timulia village under Talsara police station.
As per information provided by police, while briefing media persons on the case, the accused went to the house of the married woman of Bhandaripokhari village at around 10 pm in the night on June 14 and raped the woman in front of her husband, on gunpoint.
Threatened by the accused, the couple did not lodge any complaint with the local police and moved to another village out of fear. But the police somehow came to know about the incident and could convince the couple to lodge the complaint on June 19.
As per police, the accused have confessed to their crime during interrogation.
