Bhubaneswar: The dangerous dengue outbreak has begun to spread its tentacles in Odisha with 57 people testing positive for the fever so far.
According to the Health department, the numbers are much higher as compared to last year when just about 25 cases were reported during this period.
Dengue outbreak generally starts at the end of monsoon and September and October are considered the peak months for this transmission.
As per the reports, Khurda has reported 12 cases followed by Bhadrak and eight in Cuttack. Holy city Puri, which is bracing for Rath Yatra has recorded four dengue positive cases.
The Balasore district has also been recorded new dengue positive cases in the last week.
