Bhubaneswar, June 24: Utkal Bharat chief Kharabela Swain today lodged an FIR against chief minister Naveen Patnaik along with vigilance director at the Capital police station in connection with the Vigilance case against former Director General of Police (DGP) Prakash Mishra, which was quashed by the Odisha High Court recently.
He said that the High Court had pointed finger at the Chief Minister, who was in-charge of the Vigilance department.
The case against Mr Mishra was registered at the instruction and recommendation of the CM, he alleged. He said the judge, while quashing the FIR against Mr. Mishra, also observed that the FIR against a senior, upright and honest IPS officer was politically motivated.
Mr. Swain alleged the Vigilance Director had carried out the instruction from his political master and brought false allegation against the former DGP while registering a vigilance case against him.
