Odisha: Women ransacked liquor shop on Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar,July 8: Women ransacked liquor shop at Pandra under the Mancheswar police limits on the outskirts of the city. 

Over one hundred women on Tuesday armed with lathis, local women ransacked the shop and destroyed hundreds of liquor bottles.

 They also set fire to several articles and merchandise at the distillery. The women said male members of their families consume alcohol in the liquor shop and unleash atrocities on other family members, including children.  

The women said that they were forced to take law into their hands as authorities did not pay any heed to their requests to stop selling of liquor in the locality.
