BJD may oppose Land Bill in Parliament

Jul 19 | Bhubaneswar: Ruling party in Odisha, Biju Janata Dal (BJD), may oppose the Land Acquisition Bill in the parliament during the monsoon session beginning from July 21.

MP Bhartruhari Mahatab said wile briefing media person after the meeting held by The party supremo as well as chief minister Naveen Patnaik at Naveen Niwas said that his party would oppose the bill demanding inclusion of affected people, who lose their land, as stakeholders in projects.

Baijayant Panda, MP from Kendrapada, said his party would raise its voice for the project affected people of Odisha.

While four of the MPs remained absent in the meeting, Rajya Sabha MP Baishnab Parida left the meeting midway.
