Adapa Mandapa ready for deities

Bhubaneswar,July 20: The sojourn of Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra at Gundicha temple in Puri will begin today after the deities are taken to the adapa mandapa inside the sanctum sanctorum of the temple.

The Gundicha temple which remains empty the rest of the year except this nine-day Rath Yatra has been decked up.

After the sandhya dhupa ritual, the deities will be taken inside the temple in a ceremonial procession. A similar pahandi bije ritual of the deities will be performed including goti pahandi as was done when the deities were taken atop the chariots before Rath Yatra.

Temple sources said, some secret nitees (ritual) will be performed at the mandapa and from tomorrow the visitors can have darshan of the Lords. As per tradition, the mahaprasad will be available in the Gundicha temple from tomorrow.
