Bhubaneswar,July 21: Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar (IIT-Bhubaneswar) finally on Monday started its shifting process from its temporary campus to its permanent campus at Argul near Jatni on the outskirts of the city.
In the first phase its residential facilities for students and staff in the permanent campus opened up.
The institute's Board of Governors Chairman Sushil Kumar Roongta today formally inaugurates the Mahanadi Hall of Residence for Boys, an 800-seat hostel at the Argul campus.
With its inclusion, currently, the institute would have a few buildings which include a 200-seat Subarnarekha Hall of Residence for Girls, 40 units of staff quarters, a guesthouse, a mini shopping complex and a community centre.
Through the students would stay at Argul campus, they would continue to attend classes in the city campuses at Samantapuri and Toshali Bhavan at Satya Nagar.
