32 tourists injured in road mishap in Bhadrak

Bhadrak,July 24: At least 32 people involving three children were injured, three of them seriously, when a tourist bus in which they were travelling, overturned near Dhamra over-bridge near Charampa in Odisha's Bhadrak district late on Thursday night.

According to reports, 48 tourists from Murshidabad in West Bengal were on the way to Puri in a private bus 'Icon' when the driver lost control of the vehicle which overturned after hitting a sign board of the Dhamra over-bridge.

The incident took place at about 3.15 AM.

Following information, Charampa police and a fire bridge team rushed to the spot and rescued the passengers from the bus.

The injured passengers were later admitted to the Bhadrak district headquarters hospital where the condition of the three tourists was stated to be critical.

Police later sent 16 tourists, who escaped the mishap, to Murshidabad in a train from Bhadrak Railway Station and have informed the family members of the injured tourists.
