Komen weakens to Deep Depression, heavy rains in Odisha

Bhubaneswar,July31:The Meteorological department today said, the cyclonic storm Komen weakened into deep depression that would cause heavy to heavy rainfall in some parts of north and south Odisha in the next 24 hours.

"The cyclonic storm 'Komen' over Bangladesh, which weakened into a Deep Depression at 2:30 am today and lay centred over Bangladesh, about 360 km northeast of Baleswar at 5:30 am.It would move west-northwest and weaken into a Depression during next 24 hours. 

Local Cautionary Signal Number Three (LC-III) has been hoisted at all ports in Odisha.

The Met department has warned the fishermen not to venture into the sea during the period as squally surface wind speed reaching 45-55 kmph with gusting up to 65 kmph would prevail along and off the coast making sea condition rough to very rough.
