Road mishap killed seven Odisha passengers in Jharkhand

Bhubaneswar,July31:Seven passengers of Rourkela city in Odisha's Sundargarh district were killed when a SUV, in which they were travelling, fell into the Sarjana river in Jharkhand in the wee hours today.

According to reports, seven persons from Chhend Colony area in Rourkela city were on the way to Lucknow in a Scorpio SUV at about 1 AM when the driver, while allowing pass to a speeding truck from behind, lost control of the vehicle which overturned and fell into Sarjana river in Jharkhand at about 5 AM killing seven persons on the spot.

Police rushed to the spot and brought out the bodies of the deceased from the vehicle and admitted the driver to the hospital in an unconscious state.
